Piano Evaluation

Customers are welcome to schedule an on-site visit to evaluate their piano. Chicago area customers or nationwide, Renaissance will arrange to schedule a visit to see pianos for piano rebuilding, piano refinishing or piano restoration services. Consult with an RCR representative for costs of appraisal visit. The purpose of this visit is to determine the overall condition of the piano, make restoration recommendations and offer price estimates for the work. Jeff Cappelli, or other representative from RCR, will inspect the cabinet, belly, keyboard and action. A description of rebuilding and refinishing services is offered and an explanation of components used. Any questions or concerns offered by the customer are addressed to the best of our ability at that time.

A logical next step following the evaluation is to schedule a visit at the RCR workshop in Forest Park. Here we will demonstrate the processes that have been described for a potential restoration project with similar projects that are already in progress at RCR. Customers who visit during regular work hours can visit with our piano technicians and finishers or simply be guided through each step of the process.

We believe that having a basic and solid understanding of what "rebuilding" and "refinishing" mean, is essential prior to electing to have these services done.

Out of town and out of state customers pianos can be evaluated by special appointment as well. Please call RCR for details.

The cost of an on-site evaluation is applied to restoration services

Long distance fees are to cover time and travel expenses.
