Rebuilding Process Explanation

One of the more enjoyable parts of the restoration process is a visit to our shop to see work in progress.

On your guided tour, you will see many instruments in various stages of the restoration process. Some may be similar to your piano. Many have unique carvings and cabinetry; others are traditional. We look at other pianos to demonstrate the processes suggested for you piano. Each stage of a complete restoration is discussed in detail.

Rebuilding Documentation & Contract Explanation

The visit begins with a walk through the finishing area. Experts who apply the custom mixed penetrating stains and an incredible lacquer finish will invite you to watch as they proceed through the finishing process. Then, a stop at the stringing and action prep area will show how pin blocks are made and fitted to the case and the actual techniques used to install each wire by hand. We will also look at keyboard and action parts and the steps taken to fully improve the touch and tone of your piano. Your appreciation and understanding of the project and our work will help you to make a more informed decision regarding restoration of your instrument.
