Plate Priming

The cast iron plate, or harp, is hand sanded, cleaned and repaired. After a layer of epoxy-based primer, Renaissance Craftsmen's custom antique gold plate finish is applied. This material is durable acrylic gloss enamel with a beautiful luster. All aggraffs are replaced or buffed. Black enamel lettering on the original embossing is hand painted. Upon completion of the plate and the soundboard, the plate is carefully replaced in the cabinet.
