All components of the piano are placed on padded tables for assembling. Many cabinet parts are felted before joining. Re-plated and lacquered hardware is reattached. All parts are assembled, including the legs, lyre, tops, fallboard, music rack and desk. The pedal lyre mechanism is tested.

After assembly the piano undergoes a rigorous final check. Included are full re-examinations of keyboard and action regulation, final voicing, pedal and trapwork lubrication and travel, and the final concert tuning.
